Women In Business: Outstanding Exhibitors Acknowledged

by Delly Waigeno – EM TV News, Port Moresby

The PNG Women in Business has recognised the outstanding exhibitors at the recent Women in Business Expo.

The business expo was officially opened by Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, and was staged for two weeks, running simultaneously with the XV Pacific Games in Port Moresby.

Women from all over the country were part of this opportunity for exposure and networking.

Few of the participants of the Business Expo gathered today at the PNG Women’s Microbank office for a media conference.

Executive Director of the PNG Women in Business, Janet Sape, described the Expo as a success with many unique products put on display. She attributed the achievement to the women participants.

An award was given to one exhibitor for the most outstanding display during the expo. Patrycia Failou, Director of Family Tree Funerals & Beauty Shop based in Wewak, was awarded after views from the public, organisers and other participants.

Another exhibitor Ruth Arek, a rice farmer from Madang, was rewarded personally by Mrs Sape in recognition of her perseverance in business.

In the meantime, on behalf of businesswomen in PNG, Mrs Sape congratulated Team PNG athletes for a successful Pacific Games.

She announced that PNG WiB was offering to open free passbook accounts for the female Medalists at the Women’s MicroBank to encourage them to save.
