A local business woman in Wau, Morobe Province, has urged women throughout the country not to underestimate their potential as enterprenuers.
Muga Trisa, owner of Trisa Hire Cars, recently purchased 3 vehicles after successfully obtaining a loan from National Development Bank in Lae, under its Women in Business Loan Scheme. She recently travelled to Goroka with her 7 sons to get the three vehicles.
Muga Trisa hails from the Milne Bay and Eastern Highlands Province, and is married to a local from Wau.
Muga is a gold buyer in Wau, and owns several businesses, including TRISA Hire Cars.
Among the 3 vehicles she obtained, 1 was a 5-door Landcruiser, and the other 2 were open backs.
The vehicle keys were handed over after all formalities were signed between Muga and David Baroka, Senior Salesman with Ela Motors,
Muga commended the National Development Bank for helping her obtain a loan, and assured the bank she will repay the loan in time.
She had to travel to Goroka to lodge her application with the National Development Bank, and encouraged other women in the country not to give up, but pursue their dreams and utilise schemes such as NDB’s Women in Business Loan Scheme.
National Development Bank Branch Manager in Lae, Nathalie Kaman, also accompanied Muga and her family to Goroka to witness the handover. She said the total cost of the vehicles Muga purchased was K500, 000. Muga chipped in K158, 000 while the remaining balance was sourced from NDB Women in Business Loan Scheme.
Muga became the first client to receive the highest loan from the Women in Business Loan Scheme, and was dubbed by NDB as being a role model for businesswomen in Morobe.
