by Merilyn Diau-Katam – EM TV News, Port Moresby

A Valentine’s walk has been organised for tomorrow morning starting at 5am.

Organised by Women Arise PNG, the group has dedicated February, as a month to raise more awareness on gender related issues, affecting women and girls.

The two weeks program begins with the Valentines Against Violence Champion’s Walk, from Jack Pidik Park to Ela Beach.

The walk is supported the NCD Governor, Powes Parkop.

Interested persons are asked to wear black or orange, to support the elimination of violence against women.

The Valentine’s Against Violence will be a two week program starting on February 14th to the 28th, with other Women Arise chapters in the country, hosting the movement walk as well.

The Women Arise PNG – Goroka Chapter will also have their Violence Against Violence walk tomorrow while the Lae Chapter will have the walk on February 28.
