The fourteen months court battle is now over, afterthe Madang National Court madethe final ruling on Thursday onthe Usino-Bandi election petition case.
This case was betweenthe petitioner Peter Yama against Anthon Yagama andthPNG Electoral Commission.
The decision was made by Justice David Cannings afterthe petitioner filed a submission challengingthe processes and conducts ofthe recount bythPNG electoral commission.
Justice Cannings explained thatthe petitioners mover was not abusive of process, as any party to a petition may moverthe court for acceptance or rejection ofthe recounts results.
Yagama’s submission for the court to acceptthe recount results was supported bythe affidavit oftheReturning Officer, Reitama Taravaru.
Outsidethe court house, Yama explained to his supporters that justice must at all times prevail with judicial duties be respected.
Duly elected MP Yagama said he’s ready to implementthe National Government’s policy of service delivery, starting withthe Usino-Bandi road upgrading.
ther priority areas are education and health.
Meanwhile,the battle of petitioner Peter Yama againstthPNG Electoral Commission for contempt of court charges is not yet over.
