Trainee TeachersSay MoreIncentives are Needed

Students from Belob TeachersCollege training atthe St. Paul’s Primary School in Lae say more support is needed for training in an integrated education system.

They are part of many that are undergoing blocked training in many schools around Lae. They find thattheir profession needs more incentives.

“The Government is spending more on ther services and are not in Education,” said Trainee Teacher Hayden Max.

They say thatthe government’should look first at improvingthe facilities of colleges andthen propose a new system especiallythe integrate Education system.

“The OBe system means more work for teachers but we still have less resources,” said Trainee Teacher Piriwi Dika.

The students’wantthe government to improver facilities that can helpthem retrieve information to pass on to students’at primary school.

The education system has taken a drastic change inthe several years to suit development priorities ofthe government but facilities to cope withthe education upgrade are limited and still out dated.
