The Tourism Promotion Authority (TPA) has welcomed the appointment of Justin Tkatchenko as the new Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture.
This comes a day after Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, announced a minor cabinet reshuffle.
Acting TPA Chief Executive Officer, Peter Vincent, said the tourism sector in PNG was excited to work with a Minister like Tkatchenko who has a no-nonsense approach to work and one who is passionate and result driven.
Vincent said TPA’s key challenges include addressing impediments to tourism growth such as visa issues, law and order, and the general opinion that PNG continues to have with ongoing negative publicity both in PNG and overseas.
