We look at the growing aviation industry in Papua New Guinea. Firstly the Rural Airstrips Program of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, where airstrips of Nissan Island, Buin, Boku and Torokina are planned to be opened soon.
Also, the Alotau, Air Niugini’s latest Fokker 70 aircraft. Named after the capital of Milne Bay Province, the aircraft has somewhat made the people of Rossel Island in the province proud.
And finally, Air Niugini has begun special flights to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM).
