The TNT Short Course began today at 4pm.
President Elizabeth Well, said the TNT short Course is a national event that always brings out the best in swimmers, as they compete to get personal best time or break their personal best record.
The tournament saw swimmers from Lae, Port Moresby and overseas based take part take in the short course event.
Wells said two swimmers will be selected from the TNT short Course Championships in each stroke. These swimmers will train as a squad, in preparation for the Canada Short Course Championships in December.
Also making an appearance in the pool will be PNGs ‘Super Fish’ Ryan Pini, who will also take part in the three day championship.
The event will finish on Sunday with medal presentations and the announcement of the squad to Canada, come November.
