The Alliance Announces Intention to Seek Supreme Court Interpretation on Distribution of Public Funds

The Alliance made up of members of parliament representing a number of different established registered political parties together with a number of independent elected members of parliament, have decided to form the new political grouping.

The Alliance made known their intentions to seek interpretation from the Supreme Court on the distribution of public funds- District Service Improvement Program / Provincial Services Improvement Program.

The Alliance comprises 7 parliamentary members, representing the four regions of the country; Southern, Highlands, Momase and the New Guinea Islands.

Their core responsibility; the Rule of Law, Governance and Effective Public Services Administration, Monitoring and Checking Corruption.

The Alliance President, Ila Geno, says this is to ensure democratic institutions and individuals are adequately protected and allowed to perform their official duties without fear or favour, and to be compliant with the rule of law.

The Alliance seeks to play a vital role in confidence with the calibre of members of parliament who make up the membership and leadership of Alliance, led by Sir Mekere Morauta, in parliament.

The Alliance will do a formal launching in February next year where it is inviting the public and like-minded individuals to join.
