Thadius Katua’s Long and Successful Journey

PNG boxer Thadius Katua is now in training for the 2017 Commonwealth Games. The Pacific Games Gold Medalist has come a long way since his discovery at the 2012 PNG Games.

According to PNG Boxing Union President, John Avira, Katua’s journey has been one that has been rewarding. Speaking to EMTV Sports, Avira reflected on Thadius Katua’s journey since his discovery at the 2012 PNG Games.

In the 2015 Pacific Games, Katua made history, winning gold through a knockout. Following his success at the Pacific Games, Katua was selected to attend the Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa. It was at the Youth Commonwealth Games that gave Katua a stead. After the Youth Commonwealth Games, he prepared for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
