Southern Highlands Province is preparing for its provincial tournament, to be held next week in Mendi.
Already the 5 districts in the province have teams organised to take part in the provincial games.
The purpose of the tournament will be to select team Southern Highlands for the BSP PNG Games in Lae.
Today, Team Manager for Southern Highlands Province came in to our EMTV office to tell us about the Southern Highlands Provincial games.
Mr Yakira spoke about the tournament and their preparations in the province.
All five districts in the province are ready to take part in the provincial games in Mendi, and are waiting for the kickoff of the tournament next week.
From the 28 different sports, Southern Highlands Province will only take part in 11 different sports in the BSP PNG Games.
Also on board this year to support Team Southern Highland is a local Construction company – Construction Oceanic.
The tournament will run for a week, and during the tournament, selections will be made.
The aim of the one week long tournament is to select teams for each participated sporting code, and to come up with Construction Team Southern Highland at the end of the tournament
