By Staycey Yalo – EMTV News, Port Moresby

Six bakers in Port Moresby will be taking part in a bake off this Sunday, 6th of May, at the Lamana Gold Club as part of the Flame Cake Bake Show.

The show which started last year has seen observers travelling in from other parts of PNG to witness the event.

Apart from the bake off, stalls by small business houses in Port Moresby will be on stage and a mini fashion show to complement the Easter theme of the bake off. The idea behind the show is to give opportunity to ordinary people who enjoy baking to showcase their techniques and also to provide them a platform to expose their creativity.

Flame Flour who has sponsored the event to claim the naming rights said through its Marketing and Communications Manager, Marcus Brouggy, that they are excited to see what techniques people have in terms of using their flour.

The six contestants who will be participating this Sunday have been selected through applications via Facebook. The live bake show will be judged in front of a live audience as well.

Small businesses will also be displaying their products during the event and the public is encouraged to attend. Tickets are now selling at Wantok Clothing shop;

  • Adults K20
  • Kids – K5 and
  • Family of 4 – K40.
