The Pacific Games Organising Committee has confirmed the use of the Fairfax Harbour and the Royal Papua Yacht Club as a host.

Rear Commodore of the club, Haddon Wright said, the committee and members are delighted to be a part of the Games, and were thankful towards the GOC, for the opportunity to contribute to delivery of the Games.

“The club and all members are very proud to be hosting this event, and we’ll do our best to make sure this is a showcase event for Papua New Guinea,” Mr. Wright said.

The RPYC will be working closely with the GOC to ensure the smooth sailing of the Games.

“We don’t expect there will be any issues with the harbour master, and other authorities in charge of the harbour, and I’m sure in the true spirit of hosting a good Games and a successful Games for PNG, boat operators and owners will no doubt fall in behind of the request of the GOC.”

Chief Executive Officer of the GOC Peter Stewart said, “the sailing conditions in Port Moresby isfantastic as a result Fairfax Habour works well for sailing, this gives us the opportunity to fit three of our water Sport in one location for the public to enjoy.”
