Port Moresby Vipers suffered their biggest loss of round two, against Lae Tigers, in Lae over the weekend. Lae Tigers registered their biggest win of the season, with 48-points to nil, flogging Port Moresby Vipers in the Digicel Cup.
Retaining much of their line-up from last year and coming off a bye, Vipers are sure to re-strategise for round three.
Debutants, Waghi Tume and Hela Wigmen are yet to register wins this season.
Anderson Benford grabbed his first try on debut, with Charlie Simon converting all eight tries off the boot.
In Kokopo, the Gurias kept up their winning streak at the Graveyard, thrashing Lahanis, 18-points to 10.
In other matches, Mendi Muruks scrapped through a narrow win over Enga Mioks 12-points to 10.
Defending Cup champions, Hela Wigman went down to Simbu Lions, 18-points to 10.
And Hagen Eagles held Waghi Tumbe to a 14-point win.
Rabaul Gurias, Lae Tigers, Smibu Lions and Mendi Muruks now sit at the top half of the table with two wins each.
While Goroka Lahanis, Hela Wigman and Waghi tumbe have yet to register wins in this year’s opening rounds of the Cup.
