Relief Supplies For Kandrian-Gloucester

The final relief supplies for drought-affected communities of Kandrian-GloucesterDistrict of West New Britain Province have been delivered.

The mission headed by local MP, Joseph Lelang, is part of the humanitarian assistance to the people in his electorate.

The final relief supplies for Kandrian-Gloucester District were delivered yesterday.

Lynden Air Cargo aircraft carried 43 tons of rice, flour and oil, apart from the previous three supplies.

Chief Executive Officer, Wama Karepa, thanked the National Government of Papua New Guinea and other private stakeholders like the CPL Group of Companies, Trukai Industries, Lynden Logistics, and Helifix PNG, for their kindness.

Food will distributed to families as per the distribution plan.

“We want to thank Mr Lelang, the National Government and stakeholders for their concern,” he said.

Community leaders for Gloucester, John Nakamura and Kaleaikove, Andrew Mara told EMTV News that the food supplies were a Christmas Gift for the people.

They thanked their mandated leader, Joseph Lelang, saying this was the first of its kind.

“For the first time, we have seen a member for parliament, who is concerned for his people and providing the relief food supplies,”

“Our past leaders have neglected us,” stated John Nakamura.

The food supplies is a Christmas gift said Andrew Mara from Kaleaikove LLG.

“Mothers will be very happy,” he added.

Chief Executive Officer, Wama Karepa, said two most affected areas were Gloucester and Kaleaikove and will be the first to receive their supplies,” he said.
