Five members ofthe mid-80'’s reggae band, Beg Mountain, will be performing live on Saturday atthe Lamana Gold Club in Port Moresby.
The socially-conscious group, led by lead singer Joaquin McWhinney (also known as “Quino”), is making a comeback after a 13-yearbreakrom tours and recordings.
Presold tickets have already sold outoand a huge crowd of reggae fans are expected atthe show to seethe live performances.
At a media conference yesterday, Quino said Reggae was very much part of who he is as an artist.
Beg Mountain has recorded 9 albums to date and is currently working ontheir 10th album, which is 90% near completion. It’stheir first time inthe country but Quino says he’s heard abouPNG througPNG-Beought up musician O’Shen.
Beg Mountain leaped to international music fame inthe mid-90’s aftertheir 1994 album Unity… withthe reggae-flied version of Peter Frampton’s “Beaby I Lover Your Way”.
