PNG Volleyball Federation plans to promote the code of volleyball nationwide, due to the lack of participation in events, such as the National Championship.
Newly elected President, Kila Dick, made this remark after observing the recent National Volleyball Championship.
He hopes to make a difference in his four – year term.
With over 30 years in the sport of volleyball, New President, Kila Dick, has contributed to its foundation and now has been recognised as someone who can push it further.
Mr Dick has been involved with most of the international meets where PNG Volleyball team has attended.
He has also been running the Fairfax Volleyball Association here in the nation’s capital since 2012.
The new President believes sports are a powerful tool in national development and he plans to increase popularity in the code of volleyball to help contribute to that development.
Meanwhile, there are still so many issues to address in the code, and Kila Dick said, firstly he plans to reach out to other parts of the country where Volleyball is not popular as it is a friendly sport that encourages respect and everyone’s involvement.
Before, concentrating on international events, Kila Dick plans to utilise his association, Fairfax, to implement outreach into other parts of the country.
