Sponsored by KK Kingston, a powerlifting competition held last weekend in the nation’s capital saw powerlifters from within the National Capital District and Central province as well as from overseas take part in the challenge.
Many of the lifters took the opportunity to test their fitness level and to see what areas they needed to work on most.
The competition was to showcase individual talent, from the ages of 18 and above, in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
Murray Barracks in the nation’s capital saw a great turn out of lifters, both nationals and expatriates, taking up the challenge of lifting their strongest weight in their respective categories.
Many of the international power lifters from Australia and New Zealand also shared their powerlifting skills and technics with the PNG nationals.
PNG Powerlifting Federation was also part of the event to promote the code of in the country, and also to identify potential lifters for PNG.
The competitors were judged on squat, bench and deadlift.
