Port Moresby Racquets Club hosted its ITI Junior tennis titles today (19 August 2018), with the events played in the Singles and Doubles divisions.
Close to fifty junior players from the ages between 8 and 18 took part.
The ITI Tennis Competition saw Under 8 and 10 boys and girls compete in the Singles division, while the Under 12 to 18 took part in the Doubles competition.
The Junior division program, only recently revived last year.
Coach and mentor, Kwalam Apisah says the program, is aimed at producing young future tennis stars, that can one day represent PNG.
He said also taking part in the event, were children who have never played tennis before. Parents of the participants were also present to watch the competition unfold and at the same time have some fun.
The event ended with presentations of medals and trophies for all divisions.
