Opposition Leader, Don Polye, has called on young leaders of PNG not to deviate from true principles of good governance set by the founding fathers of this nation.
Polye said, if christian principles are overlooked, mismanagement and corruption will cripple the country.
He made these remarks, days after the country celebrated 40 years of Independence in Dagua, East Sepik Province.
The opposition leader flew into Dagua LLG yesterday to thank the people of East Sepik in raising Sir Michael Somare for his leadership, who led the country into independence.
Polye told those who gathered, the next generation of leaders must be God fearing.
He said the destiny of PNG was established on principles of Christianity but has not been upheld in successive governments.
Despite receiving 1/3 of his DSIP funds, Mr Polye presented K10, 000 each to the local high school, health centre and K5, 000 to the women’s group.
Polye says, institutions like the courts, and Police must never be weakened.
MP Polye called on PNG’s young leaders to avoid bad practices and hold onto good governance and save this country into the next 40 years.
