The Papua New GuineaDisaster Appeal for Typhoon Haiyan was launched atthe Red Cross Headquarters in Beroko, yesterday.
The appeal is part ofthPNG Red Cross’ humanitarian assistance tothe victims of Typhoon Haiyen in Philippines.
Chairman forPNG Red Cross, Mr. Wep Kanawi, urged Papua New Guineas to support this worthy cause.
The Secretary General ofthPNG Red Cross gave a detailed report onthe devastation that occurred on that tragic day.
Fellow Filipino, Mila Nash, from MCNash Fitness was also a passionate supporter ofthe appeal and asked for humanitarian help fromthe Papua New Guinea community.
JacksonsInternational AirportoAirways Hotel, Grand Papua, Crown Plaza and Gateway Hotel will set up boxes onthe 25 of this month for donations fromthe public.
Donations were kick-started with Mr. Web Kanawi giving in 100 kina. The Malaysian Association oPNG also donated tothe Phillipines Red Cross, K80 thousand.
