PNG Institute Of Directors Awards

The Papua New GuineInstitute of Directors held its annual awards night on Thursday.

 

Four awards were presented including innovative company ofthe year which went tothe CPL group of companies.

PNGID creates a strong peer network to provide opportunities’ for directors or advisors to boards, to build strong business relationships.

 

The awards were held atthe dynasty restaurant in Vision city.

For 15 yearsthe Papua New GuineInstitute of Directors has created a platform to promote professional directorship and good governance at all board levels in PNG

 

Anyone who is a director is encouraged to become a member.

 

ThPNGID provides training for directors both beginner and refresher.

 

Ontothe awards, andthe Male director ofthe year awards went to William Lamur. He unfortunately was not present; colleague Mel Togolo received it on his behalf.

 

Female Director ofthe year went to Sarah Haoda Todd. A staunch advocator of women’s issues inthe country, she tookthe opportunity to talk onthe subject.

 

Young Director ofthe year went to Vani Nades, while CPL took out innovative company ofthe year.

 

Onthe night alsoPNGID gave an opportunity forPNG Art to be displayed inthe restaurant.

 

Art Designer, Amanda Adamson, in collaboration with well-knowPNG artists like Larry Santana have started up what’s called Art for rentowhere by individuals and business houses can simply rent art for special functions,then havethem returned afterwards.
