The Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission (PNGEC) Head Office in Port Moresby has confirmed that non-sensitive polling materials, such as polling kits, voting compartments, ballot boxes and ballot box seals, have already been sent out in shipping containers to all regions.
This includes awareness posters on all aspects of polling, that voters should be mindful of.
The PNGEC also confirmed today that provinces who have received ‘sensitive’ polling materials include Manus, Bougainville, Northern, Milne Bay, East and West Sepik, Western, Morobe, and Madang.
These sensitive materials, as per the election program, began being airlifted to provinces, at the two week mark before the start of polling.
These include ballot papers, candidate posters for polling booths, indelible ink, and closed user group mobile phones for all Returning and Presiding Officers around the country.
All delivered materials are being kept under lock and key, at Provincial Election Offices.
