Canoe racing is one ofthe sports that will be included inthe 2015 Pacific Games; and not only thatoit will be developed to a national sport.
This code is also set to go to all Maritime Provinces ofthe country.
Minister for Sport and Pacific Games Justin Tkatchenko said this duringthe presentation of one hundred and fifty thousand and two hundred kina tothPNG Canoeing Association.
The money will be used to purchase new state ofthe art canoes fromthe world renowned canoe builder in Tahiti.
Six provinces are locked in for the coming regattas that will be staged every month tillthe end ofthe year but venue is yet to be confirmed bythe association committees.
The regatta is part of preparing development squad leading up tothe 2015 Pacific Games.
There are six registered canoe clubs withthPNG Canoeing Association and five are Port Moresby base.
