PNG’s National cricket team, the Barramundis, will tour the United Arab Emirates in second round of the Intercontinental Cup and World Cricket League Champions.
The Barramundis are set to play two warm up matches against Omen and local cricket club, Danube, before facing Nepal in two WCLC matches.
Team Barramundis is led by Captain, Jack Vare, Vice Captain Assad Vala.
Most members are currently in Port Moresby competing in the Gabba Champions shield, while others including, Lega Siaka, Hiri Hiri and Chad Spoer will join the team later from Australia.
The team is looking forward to competing against two quality sides, Nepal and Afganistan said coach Dipak Patel.
The team are working in improving some of their tactics, with training progressing well.
Coach Patel believes in the team following their outstanding performance at the recent South Australian Cricket Association League in Australia.
Meanwhile PNG’s position on the ladder, fourth place on the I-Cup table and eighth in the WCLC.
The team hopes to improve their rankings in the coming competition.
