Prior to the South Australian Cricket Premier League Campaign, the HEBOU PNG Barramundis travelled to Maroochydore, Queensland, where they were unsuccessful against three Australian State teams in three (3) 50 over matches.
Coach Dipak Patel, says the Barramundis’ successful opening match against Darwin’s Southern Force, last Saturday in the SACA Premier League was a great comeback.
Now looking forward to their matches against Eastern Edge and Western Grit this weekend, Patel hopes his team can replicate or even better their last performance in order to win.
Under the leadership of Captain, Assad Vala, who performed exceptionally well in their win against Southern Force last week, the Barramundis will put themselves to test again.
Patel said, fielding was outstanding, and middle and death bowling brought the team back into the game.
He added, these batting performances reflect what the Barramundis should have done against Western Australia in Maroochydore by winning with overs to spare.
After 12 months of recovery from injury, Willie Gavera’s presence boosted their performance after 12 months of recovery from injury.
Along with Batsman, Sese Bau, the team’s performance is expected to be even better.
After this weekend’s matches, the Baramundis will go for four more matches before returning home.
