2017 will be a busy year for the PNG Athletics Union.
The new year will begin with an international tournament, followed by the 2017 BSP PNG Games to be staged in Kimbe, from April 1 – 18, and an athletics competition to start on March 28.
April 22, will see the World Relay competition, while March will see the athletics fraternity celebrate the World Athletics Day, in various locations.
June and July will be busy for young athletes, as they represent PNG at the Oceania Championships in Suva Fiji; Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas; and the World U18 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya.
While in August, PNG Athletics Union will host two home events, apart from sending representatives to London for the World Championships.
The whole of September will see PNG reps sent overseas to compete in the Mini–Pacific Games, in Port Vila, Vanuatu.
2018 will PNG take part in two international events, the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, and World Indoor championships in UK.
Athletes selected from national tournaments will go into representing PNG at all overseas champions, both regional and international.
