Government is expected to work with a strict budget this year as Treasury has predicted a fall by 500 million kina for the year.

He hosted a meeting on Monday with all departmental heads where he warned them to produce expected outcomes or face departmental restructure or even abolishment.

Present at the meeting were caretaker ministers Kandep MP Don Polye, Aitape Lumi MP Patrick Pruaitch, Alotau MP Charles Abel, Kavieng MP Ben Micah, Tewai Siasi Mao Zeming, Abau MP Sir Puka Temu, William Duma and Kompiam Abum John Pundari.

Among policies and agendas the O’Neill government will be pursuing is the multibillion kina LNG Project.

He told the heads that the project promises a lot for PNG and there are dangers of missing out on the opportunities it may offer.
