The National Government wants more dialogue between development partners to improve service delivery.
Yesterday, at the 8th National Development Forum, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, Peter O’Neill, said the current policies will set the foundation to influence and direct the path PNG can follow to improve people’s lives.
PM O’Neill said despite the negative impressions on the position of the economy, there is room for improvement.
The Prime Minister maintained that the Government will allocate funding and other necessities to achieve its development agenda.
However, current policies need a broader perspective from development partners to achieve development goals.
Chairman of the CIMC Secretariat and National Planning Minister, Charles Abel, said this year’s forum will focus on the output of national policies implemented by the O’Neill-Dion Government.
He says, this will help shape current policies, define development, and improve service delivery.
Day 1 discussions were based on topics of Economic Updates, Accountability Reforms, Transport and Infrastructure, Agriculture, and Land Reforms.
This year’s theme is “Showcasing Achievements and fulfilling Development Aspirations to Improve Service Delivery through Strategic Partnership”.
Key outcomes of the forum will be compiled by the CIMC Secretariat, and presented to the National Executive Council by Minister Abel.
