Prime Minister Peter O’Neill yesterday met withthe newly appointed Chief Magistrate, Nerrie Eliakim, at his Parliament Office.
Aged 39, Ms Eliakim isthe first female andthe youngest Chief Magistrate, who replaces Jack August.
She was appointed tothe head position after being withthe Magisterial Services for six years.
Mr O’Neill welcomed her and reiterated his government’s aim to enhance and strenthen gender equity inthe public service.
