Attorney General and Justice Minister, Ano Pala, is in the process of joining the court case dealing with the National Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate’s Matthew Damaru, and his recent suspension in April.
His lawyer, Ralph Saulep, filed the application this morning.
Saulep argued that the Attorney General, by virtue of the office, should have been part of the matter since its beginning.
They hope to join the matter as third defendant, making the state of Papua New Guinea the fourth and final defendant.
The submission also questions the engagement of Australian lawyer Greg Egan and his firm Jema Lawyers, who have been engaged to represent Damaru and his deputy Timothy Gitua in this matter.
