Pacific Judicial Conference

Twelve Chief Justices and representatives of Judges from the Pacific Islands attended a high-level regional forum in Port Moresby this week.

The four days Pacific Regional Conference is hosted by Chief Justice, Sir Salamo Injia, for the Judges to discuss issues to promote improvement within thr justice system.

These include strengthening judicial leadership, access to justice, building the competence and professionalisation of Courts, and improving Court service delivery across substantive and procedural justice.

Recommendations received from the forum will be taken back by the Judges to their countries for implementation.

The goal is to build fairer societies by supporting Courts in the Pacific Region to develop a more accessible, efficient and responsive justice service.
