Ottio sets sights on NRL

by Dion Kombeng – EM TV Sports, Port Moresby

The 21 year old has a big future in Rugby League ahead of him and has set his sights firmly set on playing on the NRL one day.

Ottio’s dream of playing in the NRL could become a reality soon, but he first has his sights on the Auckland 9s competition, which is the first step to the NRL, he is hopeful that he has performed well enough during the trials to be selected.

He had the opportunity to train under the experience of Raiders coach Ricky Stuart, and has learnt a lot from training under a much higher level of rugby and it has been quite and experience for him.

His standout performance this season landed him off season trials with NRL club, the Canberra Raiders.

Still relatively new to Rugby League, as a former Volleyballer, he definitely has had an outstanding year with the PNG Hunters.
