We discuss disaster preparedness. Disaster preparedness refers to the measures taken to prepare for and reduce the effects of disasters. That is to predict and where possible prevent disasters, mitigate their impact on vulnerable populations and respond to and effectively cope with their consequences.

We also highlight the seed multiplication project in Jiwaka and kandep initiated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). An important aspect of disaster preparedness is planting drought tolerant crops.

We then conclude our episode with the effects of Tribal Fighting at Murip in Kandep. As a result of fighting wheat mill in Murip was burnt to the ground in 2012 and the IOM has stepped in to help the people develop peace building program that will help them maintain peace and harmony in their community.
