OC to deal with Complaints against PNGDF

Complaints from serving and former members ofthe defense force will now be fast tracked throughthe revised Redress of Grievance process or ROG.

ROG is designed to liftthe burden offthe courts.

A memorandum of Agreement on this was signed in Port Moresby on Wednesday betweenthPNGDF andthe Ombudsman Commission atthPNGDF Headquarters, Murray Barracks.

It was well attended bPNGDF Personnel,the Ombudsman commission, development partners and members ofthe law and justice sector.

PNGDF Commander Francis Agwi saidthe MOA will ensure that complaints againstthe force will be directly dealt with bythe Ombudsman Commission rther thanthe courts.

Acting OC Phoebe Sangetari encouraged ther organizations to set up institutions withinthe OC. She saidthe commission does not deal withthe lLeadersip code only.

Justice Penuel Mogish also a Defence force judge saidthe MOA would liftthe back log of Defence force cases currently beforethe courts.

The process to come up with MOA began four years ago.
