Normal Transport Service Today

By Vasinatta Yama – EM TV News, Port Moresby

Transport and News Secretary, Roy Mumu, and Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Road Traffic Authority, Nelson Terema, have assured residents of the National Capital District that public transport services will be operating as normal today.

Authorities held an urgent meeting yesterday with the PMV Association and Public Transport Industry representatives, and have agreed that there will be no strike by PMV and taxi operators.

Meanwhile, Terema security for these operators will be provided.

He warned that if opportunists try to cause damage to PMV buses and taxis, they will be dealt with by rule of law.
