MoU Signed to Signify Partnership Between IPA and Madang Provincial Administration

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the Investment Promotion Authority (IPA) and the Madang Provincial Administration for the establishment of IPA’s help desk at the provincial level in Madang Province.

With IPA known for its investment and promotional reach, the MoU signed allows for the partnership between IPA and Madang Provincial Administration, to build and strengthen relationships towards achieving sustainable outcome for Madang’s provincial economic activities.

Now with the signed agreement between the two partners, will enable IPA to facilitate its activities through the provincial administration to bring better and sustainable economic benefits to the people of Madang and the country as a whole.

A help desk will be established at the provincial level in Madang to allow for the execution of the agreement.

Through its Commerce and Industry Division, IPA will work in close collaboration with Madang’s provincial administration to;

  • execute IPA activities and functions
  • business and intellectual Property Rights registration processes at the provincial and district level
  • promotional activities of IPA’s Spot Inspection and Provincial Survey, Business Registration, marketing and
  • Monitoring and regulation of foreign enterprise and local companies operating in Madang province.

The help desk will facilitate IPA’s activities to allow for consistency and effective delivery of services to the people of Madang.

Business advisory services will be provided to the business community including the Small Medium Enterprise to help in their business operations. Other information through its awareness programs will also be conducted to provide people with clear understanding on IPA’s operations and involvement in bringing sustainable business opportunities to them.

According to IPA’s Acting Managing Director, Clarence Hoot, Madang is the first province to take this option IPA provided. He further urged other provincial administrations to consider this option as it will bring greater business benefits to their provinces.

Madang Provincial Administrator, Daniel Aloi, when commending IPA for creating and providing these partnership, said the agreement is taken as the province’s aim to achieving a healthy provincial economic development.⁠⁠⁠⁠
