With just one day left beforethe close of nominations intothe quest for the Motu Koita Assembly Chairman seatoandthe incumbent Chairman has made his re-election intentions official.
Miria Ikupu says his fight for funds still owed tothe assembly is not over and he also wants to stop illegal land grabs fromthe Motu Koitabuans.
Word fromthe commission is thatthe chairman seat will be highly contested and one thing common for nearly all vying for the position is to stop illegal land grabs– an issue that’s been around sincethe establishment ofthe capital, Port Moresby.
Meanwhile,the Central Provincial LLG elections are also in progress. It’seemsthe government’s ruling People’s National Congress Party has its influence here. The party’s regional representative for the sothern region, Robert Beio is a candidate for the RigoInland seat.
Nominations close 4pm today with one-day polling scheduled for Motu Koita onthe 9’s up>th of July.
