Minister Arore Focus on District Developments

Ijivitari Member David Arore respects the O’Neill Dion government’s decision to remove him as the Minister for Higher Education, Research Science and Technology.

He says it is the prerogative of the government to appoint any member of parliament to hold government portfolios.

His focus will now be on the developments at his districts with now the handover of his portfolio done and dusted.

Member Arore has shifted his focus to his district.

He will work on completing exiting projects and getting priority projects for this year off the ground.

The K10 million Afore to Pongani road project, the reviving of the coffee mill and Ijivitari District hospital project are among his priorities.

He says, the coffee industry has seen better days but the recent announcement by the Prime Minister Peter O’Neill in Goroka, has restored confidence to small holder coffee growers.

Mr. Arore says he will work closely with the government to ensure DSIP funds allocated for his district are utilized well.

Much of the populations in his district are yet to see delivery of basic services.

He says, he is aware of their concern and will ensure his officers tasked to deliver these services perform.

So much of complacency has seen the people suffer and this will not be the case this year, he says.
