Police in Lae are investigating the death of a man who was killed on Friday night during clashes in the Five mile area outside Lae City.
Another man remains in a critical condition after being stabbed during the fight.
Lae Metropolitan Superintendent Nema Mondiai said the fight started after a vehicle was stoned by youths on Friday night between 10 and 11 pm.
Several houses and gardens were destroyed by relatives of the dead man.
The situation remains tense as police conduct investigations.
