Moresby North West MP Michael Malabag told women in his electorate to get organized and establish a women’s council.
Womenfrom all walks of life, many house wives including a handful of men gthered to welcomethe MP at his electorate. They toldthe MP to establish a reputable council to assistthem start-up businesses.In this way,they saidthey can helptheir husbands provide for their families.
Minister Malabagsaid when a woman is empowered to be self-reliant; her family is healthy and wealthy.
He promised a sum of K1 million kina to this council when established to assist girls and women’s tartup businesses. All he asked fromthem is to get organized and cooperate with ther women groups established inthe electorate.
Mr. Malabag also said to establish a youth’s council for the electorate and empower youths to be self-reliant as well.
