The day was dull, in Madang, but as soon as the players from each team entered the field, the crowd turned up in numbers. Evidently, the support for this round’s NSL showdown was hot.
Both teams were strong, giving more motivation to the supporters who included the Madang Governor, Jim Kas.
The visitors gave the home ground players a tough match, when they scored in the first half, but that goal was later disqualified.
The Madang FC scored in the 2nd half, and the referee gave the ok.
“I am happy my team won, but I admit it was a tough game, however I can not be beaten on my home ground,” said the Madang FC Coach, Bob Morris.
The Manus Admiralty Coach on the other hand, was not happy.
“I see that my boys are getting a lot of yellow cards which from my observation shouldn’t be. The Referees shouldn’t be from Madang,” said Peter Sakai, the Manus Admiralty FC’s Coach.
This match was the decider for the Madang FC, and winning has scored them the position to stay in the game.
The Admiralty FC on the other hand is looking forward to giving the Lae City Dwellers a tough run, in their next showdown.
