Divine Word University in Madang hosted its annual Cultural Dayyesterday. This year’stheme “Total Quality Assurance in Cultural Diversity” called for individuals to take pride intheir cultural traditions.
Spectators and participating provincial groups flocked intothe show ground, to have a glimpse aPNG’s diverse and unique cultural performances.
Dancers from Highlands, Islands, Momase and Southern regions, entertained guests.
Students fromthe Solomon Islands joined inthe event this year. They showcasedthe different traditional dances fromthe seven provinces.
Cultural DayCommittee Chairman Obert Kerry said modernisation has contributed tothPNG culture dying out. He said culture can be preserved through book writing.
