Community Development Minister Loujaya Toni has supportedthe government’s decision onthe Asylum Deall.
She said it will greatly improverthe lives of Manus people and surrounding island communities.
Minister Toni told EMTV thatthe asylum seeker deal with Australia poses more benefits for the host province andthe country.
“Maybe next year Manus will have a little bit more in allocation and will be atthe top ofthe allocation scale, and Morobe maybe inthe middle somewhere and Port Moresby maybe bethe least atthe bottom,” says Loujaya.
“It allows for catch up with a greater allocation of DSIP for them and it challenges districts like Lae and NCD to be able to think outsidethe box and create economic opportunity outside ofthe ten million allocations.”
As minister responsible for the welfare ofthe people, Mrs. Toni confidently saidthe deal is inthe best interest ofthe Manus people.
She backedthe Prime Minister in saying that this deal is a win-win situation for the country.
Similar arrangements are inthe pipeline for the ther 88 districts inthe country.
