Lois Ilave as Miss Queen Emma

Paradise Foods Limited today proudly announced its support towards the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant – PNG to be staged on October 22.

Under the Queen Emma Chocolate brand, Paradise Foods Limited, a first time contestant sponsor, supports Miss Lois Ilave as Miss Queen Emma.

18 year old Lois Ilave, a first year law student at the University of Papua New Guinea, has a fitting message on PNG’s 41st Independence anniversary: “Cultural pride isn’t just a celebration that occurs once every year. It is something every Papua New Guinean must carry within them, to make the country a better place.”

Miss Ilave is of mixed Gulf and Malaysian parentage.

Being the youngest running contestant, Lois says she is ready to take on the challenge of the quest. The debutante credits her mother as her biggest motivation in life.

According to Lois, her mother left her home country (Malaysia) and has been living in Papua New Guinea for more than thirty years to raise Lois along with her seven siblings.

“I can only Imagine how difficult it must be to live so far away from your own family, but she has done so for more than three decades, dedicating her life to ensure her children got the best possible chance at tackling theirs,” Lois said.

Deputy Chairperson of Miss Pacific Islands Pageant – PNG, Molly O’Rourke, thanked Paradise Foods Limited and Miss Ilave for paying interest in the Pageant this year. She added that 2016 was a rather challenging year for the Pageant to get sponsors.
