By Theckla Gunga – EMTV News, Wewak

Robert Marek, a local from You Island, northwest of Wewak Town, has proven that even with limited knowledge of running a guest house, he can turn a beautiful beachfront into a tourism site.

Marek, who is the owner of Naic Boi (Nice Boi) Guest House runs his business with wife, Catherine, and children.

He built the Guest House in 2008, as a way to generate income for his family and was overwhelmed when it became popular.  His wife Catherine, completed training on cookery and prepares meals for guests.

With only three bungalows, the Guest House attracts tourists from as far as Sweden and America.

In July, Marek received the Governor General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae and other government officials.

Marek says the view of the sun setting on the colorful reef and huge waves, is an attraction for tourists.
