A select-squad for the final PNG Lawn Bowls team for the 2015 Pacific Games has been finalised; with seven men and seven women making up the squad.
Players have been selected from different bowling associations in the country; the final team has never trained together before, but have been in preparations over the last few months, in their respective provinces.
The young stars in the team have taken up major roles and have shown improvements and commitment in their training. Coach, Willie Steven, says the team’s preparations are on par.
Funding has become an issue, causing the delay in the team’s international trips aimed at upskilling on the synthetic surface, on which they will be playing, during the games.
Despite training venues and preparations being issues to many sporting codes, all athletes in team PNG are focused on completing their training and performing to their best in July.
