Lady Gaga is just full of surprises. One minute she’s belting out her electro-pop songs in peculiar costumes and making even more bizarre videos, and the next she’s belting out classics from the musical The Sound of Music.
The 2015 Oscars gave Lady Gaga the honour of performing for the first time on Oscar stage.
Her daring performance paid a 50th anniversary tribute to the famous all-time favourite musical The Sound of Music, showing off her talent as a versatile singer and performer.
The art-pop singer was in a white long dress as she performed four tracks from the musical, with backing from a string section. She opened with ‘The Hills Are Alive’, followed by ‘My Favourite Things’, ‘Edelweiss’ and concluded her performance with ‘Climb Every Mountain’.
The talented vocalist, who is usually heavy on selling her music, has been recently leaning towards the classics.
During the Grammys, Gaga danced around the stage performing the classic ‘Cheek-to-Cheek’ with Tony Bennett from the pair’s 2014 album. That album also earned them the Grammy for best traditional pop vocal album earlier in the evening.
