After just a few short weeks in their pre-season training camp, the PNG Hunters have already released four players from the initial 36-man train-on squad due to a lack of performance, and work commitments.
The exclusion of the four players, who chose to remain unnamed, will not affect the team’s training schedule Assistant Coach, Nigel Hukula, said today.
Hukula said he feels as though the boys need a bit more time to prepare for a competition as big as the Intrust Super Cup, but with that being said, the Hunters coaching staff will definitely be looking out for them.
Hukula also mentioned that for those leaving for work obligations; it was an encouraging situation for the whole team, as he needs 100 per cent commitment from all players.
The Hunters will continue training with their 32-man squad for a few more weeks before they go home for the festive season.
Final selection for the 2016 season is to be made early next year.
