Koiari Landowners Give Government Until End of April to Review Kokoda Track Authority

By Staycey Yalo – EMTV News, Port Moresby

Kokoda Track Landowners have given the government until the end of this month to review the Kokoda Track Authority.

According to Koiari LLG President, David Ogi, an independent review into the KTA, announced by the Prime Minister early this year, has not begun. This he said is causing uncertainty among landowners.

Ogi added the review and restructure of KTA must be done before the end of this month, and must involve all stakeholders, including the landowners.

Meanwhile, Mr Ogi has also expressed his dissatisfaction on the proposed merger of Eda Ranu & Water PNG, adding that the establishment of Eda Ranu under the NCD Act has not benefited Koiari landowners for many years, and the proposed merger must involve consultation with the rightful landowners.
